Anybody else had a problem where one side of the flip up front of the bonnet disengages under heavy acceleration. Happened to me twice so far, usually when I plant the throttle after braking. Could it be that the car is flexing or just a dodgy catch? Its a right pain having to stop every now and then to press it back in place.

Having said that could just be my bad driving....

Had this problem & had to re-align main bonnet & adjust the catches on both main & service bonnets as the locking nuts come loose. Also found the offside service bonnet catch fitted the wrong way around so it was not going into the socket! I spent a good couple of hours doing this and had no problems since.

Yup had this a lot when I decided that the catches looked a bit corroded, so I greased them - wrong!
The bonnet kept popping, used many cotton buds to degrease them and now all is well!

(i'm sure you're right about the body flex)

Mine did this. Basically I prised off the little springy circlip, squeezed it together a little (to make it a tighter fit) and hey presto. No more springing bonnet!
