Just doing some tentative looking at trackdays, just wondered as a starting point where the closest to me are - I'm in Southampton so what's closest?

Castle Coombe, Goodwood. Or airfield days, Keevil.

Goodwood, but perhaps not great for a first track day as runoff is somewhat limited. There's an airfield at Abingdon (about 90 minutes up the A34) where Motorsport Events run a day about once a month. But then again, it's only another 45 minutes from there up to Silverstone or Bedford a little bit further than that (more than enough run off there).

cheers, will have a look into all of them. Large run off would be kinda nice, as it'll be both myself and the wife having a go and she'll kill me if I pile it into the tyres before she gets a go hehe

Still looking into exactly what I'll need etc, but we have an old car that is not really worth selling or p/exing due to vandalism damage, it seemed a shame to waste it what with it being such a nippy car!

thruxton
(am also looking for a decent 1st track experience nearest bournemouth but they all have noise regulations... think Tigger puts out 105db+ @ 4500rpm - don't normally rev that high!)

thruxton dont do trackdays, they do a few lame experience days

105dB is pushing it anywhere in the south east, you're gonna have to travel.

brands gp have rare "noisy days"
but check out goldtrack for noisy days at silverstone and donnington.

Thruxton are apparently planning on doing Track days again from next season. Apparently details will appear on their website. Nothing there yet though.
