poor suit!
I'm more worried about how we played the u21s after Pearce said 'we will always play our strongest team' and clearly didn't. I do feel for the fans that have taken time off work etc to get down there expecting us to have a real go at Spurs.
Osbourne was my Motm, Lars looked a bit slow, but it was Good experience for the kids and now we move forward to Brighton with a fully rested first team.

Thought we played some very good football at times with one or two really standing out. Didn't rate Lars at all (ok he crossed the ball for the goal) but for me, he didn't look interested at all.
Shame SP didn't take it bit more serious & played maybe 2 or three "first" team players! Had he done that I think the result could have been completely different. Good effort though & much better that I was expecting once I saw the team sheet!

annoying to watch an understrength team but they did fantastic. in all to be fair to sp a very good night - new people shone and we did well enough to retain pride and confidence ( 2-1 would have been fairer ) and we're out of a cup that doesnt matter to "concentrate on the league" with heads held high
impressed at the confidence on the ball - more than happy to play proper footy against them which was great for youngsters. and osborn looks fab

Only disappointment for me last night was that we didn't have a game-changer on the bench.
Blackstock was only ever going to come on as fresh legs, Tesche for Vaughan was pre-planned by the look of it and although Burke did nothing wrong it was a run out, nothing more.
What about if we'd brought on Lansbury and Assambalonga after we scored?
In general though, can't criticise the performance. We tired after 75 minutes which is when we sat deep and Tottenham pushed on more. It was only in those last 15 minutes that Spurs looked good really, but it was down to us rather than them.
Terrific atmosphere at the Forest end as always. Worth the sore knees (from standing for two hours) and sore throat, as always.

Indeed, playing a weakened side mid week, sometimes has this effect.
Brighton seem to be something of a bogie for us thought, I suspect 12 months ago that is a match we'd have lost.
No complaints here, it is a long season and we are well placed. but we have given up on two great opportunities to get a little bit of distance on our rivals

A flat performance on Saturday, everybody seemed below par.
Brighton, never known for being a dirty team, seemed.... well....dirty. Lots of little kicks after the ball had gone, lucky there weren't more bookings.
Fox booked for pulling back one of their players, then one of theirs did the same and nothing happened. Tired of that kind of thing.
Horrendous decision of the game was when Brighton played a long ball over the top for their forward to run on to..... except he was 15 yards into our half and everyone else was on the half way line. No flag. Absolutely ridiculous, assessor should drop the linesman and the ref for that debacle.
After that he missed another offside - albeit not as obvious - and subsequent flags were greated by huge cheers from the fans behind said linesman.
Brighton did their job, never really attacked and we ultimately couldn't find a way through.
Comment of the day came from the bloke behind me when Lansbury went off for Weldwyk. "He's going to play in midfield!"
No, you muppet!
1) Lansbury was playing behind Assombalonga rather than in a traditional midfield role anyway
2) The player coming on doesn't have to go into the exact position of the player he replaces - if Darlow got sent off would you expect De Vries to play left mid if Antonio was sacrificed? Muppet.
Big game tonight. Hopefully Fryatt's fit.

Yeah I don't think that role suits Henri, he plays best back a bit further and bossing the middle of the park. I heard people slating his performance, not realising he was in a different role.
That Michael-Smith character was off side a lot
Like you I'm hoping Fryatt plays tonight as at times we are starting to look a bit one dimensional up top with Britt.

Still not losing these types of games like we would have last season.
I can see us absolutely spanking somebody soon.
Not if you saw how few chances we are creating I can see us absolutely spanking somebody soon.
Fryatt being back in the side will give us another needed dimension I feel. Giving more space for Britt, Antonio etc
We seem to be playing too defensive for me, with only one up recently, although Antonio being a strike partner to Britt last night didn't do too much...
