I need to replace my anti roll bar end links.
The anti roll bar is a standard spitfire / GT 6 item but the drop links
are different. I think that the right ones are from a Vitesse 2.0 with Rimmer Bros
partnr 150842. Where can I get a new pair?

Hi Eric, these look nice to me, never seen them in the flesh though.

https://delta.securesslhost.net/~shenglt/catalog/index.php?cPath=21_36&osCsid=38579d825dcab1dcce912ad9df10feb1

from steve heath for the M but it should fit the vixen i think.
otherwise you'll have to cut and weld spitfire droplinks.
how's thing going with the vix ? post some pics if you want.

They are not standard items they are modified.

I bought a rosejointed kit from Wolfit racing. they will fit with little modification.

John Wolfe races triumphs. He can supply you a set of Spitfire droplinks for £45. Not as pretty as Steve's but they do fit a Vixen... I have fitted them

Vixen,

the rosejoint ends can be adjusted to face any angle or rotation you want as they are threaded.

Any change that with heating it you can turn it the right direction?
Or is the only option to cut it and weld it back together

TVR used the link from the rear suspension of the Triumph Vitesse 2.0.
If you look on the rimmer bros webpage under Vitesse rear susppension you
see a drawing with the right link. TVR used this link for the anti roll bar.
Rimmer Bros can't supply this link any more.

The life of un-booted rose joint in the UK's road is approx 2 years...std drop link 10 years (both estimated figures from feedback from my customers that have given it me over the last few days) a std male rose joint and a female studed joint will do the job with a adapter to fit into the wishbone which all looks very lovely, add the boots to protect your investment and you might will see change out of 70.00 per side (experience over years of working only on TVR's is why it is done that way and not any other way, as this configuration will fit Grantura 3's and EVERY model all the way through to 1980 M series, using the right quality parts) Std 17.50 each replacement poly eyelet bush 4.00 extra support washer to stop the bushes from being damaged FOC because I would advise that you should do this....just my thoughts on the subject. Hello darren.
Jon Wolf's website seems a handy little resource to me.

What front hubs are you using? my griffen has lovely Alloy ones with screwin long studs. I bought them when Chris Schirle put the basic platform together but was won-dering where he sourced them. i was thinking quiller triumph but you probably know for definite. I need some for dads Vixtec!!

Hows it coming along bye the way??

Neil.

Hi Neil,

Yes, I cant even remember how I cam across it.

No,, I'm still using std hubs, no great need to replace them for road use. Although maybe one day,,, lol

"Vixtec", intresting,,, I've come across a chap on ebay who's selling Zetec engine mounts for crossflow to Zetec conversions. It may save you time faffing around on fabricating?

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ConversionMo

cost £57.99 (includes rubber)

Progress on my car is non existent at the moment, cant get near it. I've repaired the doors and done some test spraying. I've managed a repair the doors without the use of any filler at all. The bonnet is almost stripped and ready for repairing.

Hi Darren.
They are copies of early retro ford mounts. Dave Colledge at retro Ford has improved these by covering the donut in a steel shroud, this keeps the mount together since a std donut always wants to shear at the angle the mount sits in the chassis. Daves are a bit more expensive though so poss worth looking at.

Adrian.

How the devil are you, Long time no hear. Will be contacting you in new year when chassis build on dads car starts properly, Spending a long cold winter in my new garage rubbing down GRP.

Rose joints with rubber gaiters to protect them.
as Darren says, the original set up is pretty crap.

And just to hack some more:wink:

Darren, Retro sport and Dave Colledge is 01536 747978 He is in Corby

regards rubbing down fibreglass, what I should have said was that i will be repairing 2 Vixen S2 shells, including full strip, full re-laminate, loads of gel coat crack repairs etc etc etc.
You are more than welcome to spend a day in the garage with your DA though.

Neil.

Vixen, what is it going to be, i don't see rubber gaiters supplied with the rosejoint kit. are you going the "as original as possible" route or a slight upgrade ?
