is it possible to skim the top off a 711M block to run a precossflow head and shorter stroke? 72 as oppposed to 77 . . . . .any one know ???

I once fitted the pre-crossflow head to a 711M block myself, though I used the 711M crank and rods plus an overbored block to get 1700cc.

This did require shaving a little metal from inside the pistons to clear the longer stroke 711M crank's webs though, but in the main it was a pretty straightforward job.

Edited to add (because I just remembered) that I also had to get the pushrods shortened as well.

so I guess a few millimetres off the top of the block (and the push rods, or a set of shorter pre-crossflow ones) would do the trick then. give you a stronger big end and block too . . . . .
