From 997 Cup car to Autosport Young Driver of the Year??

Fellas,

Just thought I'd share some good news. My missus' cousin Oliver Turvey has been nominated for the McLaren Autosport yound driver award.

He has already done the driving bit of the contest at Snetterton against 5 other hopefuls. They drove 997 Cup cars (oh yes!!). Judging it were D Hill, J Palmer and M Brundle. Th winner is anounced at the Autosport awards on 3/12/06.

Previous winners of the award include D Coulthard, J Button, G Paffett, A Davidson. So if Oliver wins......it could be the big time! He came second in this year's Formula BMW despite only starting 2/3 of the races. He utterly dominated towards the end of the season.

I said to his dad at a recent wedding that he could "do a Justin Wilson" and sell shares in his future to raise cash. That would only work if his exposure was increased, so I'm hoping he wins this award.

Lovely lad as well. 19 years old, in his second year at Cambridge university.......so very bright as well, the git. 2 girlfriends at last count as well says my girlfriend. Good lad!!
