For the UK distributor go to www.aa-fd.com/uk_l_un/intr_vid.htm and click on Jackson Brothers. All there DVDs/Videos are excellent.

Well if you order from the Ststes, if you buy three you get one free, last week I got Famoso Cacklefest - 2004 Hot Rod Reunion-13, it's awesome.

just got an email back from the Jackson Bros, $6.00 shipping to the Uk so with the $ to £ rate it probably works out cheaper to get them direct anyway

Click on www.cacklefest.com/cacklecars.shtml the majority of these dragsters are on the Famoso Cacklefest DVD. Look at Tom Hanna'scooldragster, it's brand new not a restoration, you can see why people called him "The Tinman"

Thanks for that....

Funny how if something looks right, it usually is right. Scanning through the pics on the link, the one that caught my eye was The Chizler... the first piston-powered car to crack the double-ton.

A top link, cheers! Added to the favourites.

The Chizler ran 200 mph in 1960 but did'nt back it up that's why Swamp Rat VI holds the record.

Gotta love this forum. thumbup

Q: If it weren't for the restriction of 335 Terminals, do you think Top Fuel cars could, eventually, make 400mph?

Since they reduced the nitro percentage to 85%, Alan Johnson, crew chief on Tony Schumacher's US Army Top Fueler blasted him to an NHRA Speed Record of 336.15 mph (still unbeaten) at National Trail Raceway in 1995.

If the NHRA reallows the use of 90% nitro then they could eventually make 400mph, some of the crew chiefs are very crafty at making their cars going faster & quickercloud9 At the moment they are only allowed to use 90% nitro at Bandimere Speedway because of the altitude.

that was 2005 not 1995 the Sarge ran 336.15 and earlier this season he ran 337mph but didn't back it up

recucing nitro just means that power is made from other ways (read the interview with Dan Olson on DRO) and breaks more parts, if they were still at 90% or 95% then they would be making the same power btu with elss damage, the rev limiters don't help this at all, they are the main contributing factor stopping the speeds climbing - Doug Kalitta ran 337mph and without the rev limters it was projected he would of run 340mph+

NHRA restricting the final drive ratio about fifteen years ago (They were getting nervous about 290 mph!!) had a big effect on top end speeds as well.

I posted the question "What would a no rules fueler run?" on the old mater a couple years ago. No rules would mean being able to use Dale Armstrong's two speed blower drive, 100% fuel, any gear, any width tire, any cubic inch, any bore center block, and how many other things that NHRA (No Hot Rods Allowed, LOL) have banned. I'll bet you'd see 350, anyways. On the runs that the rear tires hold. How many 350 MPH blowouts do you want to chance? Whew! I'd get a health insurance company for a sponsor and do some bartering of services.
