Hi Everyone this is my first post so please be gentle with me.

I've just seen this www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmBh5IA-mSc and I'm wondering what the difference is between Pro Mod and the Austrialian Top Doorslammer class? Is it only the name?

Hi Mate, welcome to this brill little drag board in this big brill site. I would love to go to auz and go round the strips. Thay are very lucky to live in a country that is fun and freedom loving, to be able to enjoy this fantastic sport to a level secound only to the USA. I think you are right what you say about the names.

aussie top doorslammers run PSI/whipple (screw) blowers are less limited on rear end ratio's and can run lockup clutches whereas pro mod is hi-helix blowers with 15% overdrive limits (for FIA) standard clutches and limited rear end ratio's, not sure on weight for top doorslammer but blown pro mods have to weight 2700lbs

on a side note; about John Zappia's '72 Holden, it still retains a steel roof, rear quarters and bootlid - one rapid rat

I think T/D run a little heavier than FIA Pro Mod as well (perhaps why their using original steel panels is less of a handicap, and may even help them make the weight)
