This months competition is Film Titles.

You should have plenty of inspiration from the telly of titles but how do you get them down into a single shot. That Ladies and Gentleman is your challenge.

A word of warning - this does mean that I'll be judging the winner with a hangover..

Previous themes have included :

Film Titles
Light
Red
Power
Flange
Camel Toe
Detail
Industrial
Focus/ Depth of field
Contrast
Impact
Water
Communication
Speed

Oooh, thats going to be difficult, time to get thinking then...

Oh it would be really handy to have a list of previous competitions to ensure we didn't duplicate them for future reference.

Maybe a thread with just the themes and the winning photos that is locked so only mods can post?

Bloody hell - good theme. Lots of room for interpretation there. Going to have to get my thinking boots on.

If someone starts one off I'll sticky/lock it etc, unfortunately not got a whole lot of time today to do it. Can do it tonight though; it's a nice idea.

Very good theme and a bit different, which I like cos it really makes you think and should inspire new images rather than simply trawling back through personal image libraries.

What a fantastic theme! My two favourite films are Apocalypse Now and Saturday Night Fever. The scope for interpretation is amazing.

Glad you seem to like the theme. As has been said you'll have to get out there and snap rather than trawl your picture library.

Now I wonder if someone is going to do Deepthroat...

A rather boring conference call has enabled me to collate the current list. I can't find any more under search. See the first post for themes.

Last year's topics and winners were as follows...

March - Speed - Podie

June - Music - Weirdfish
July - Water - Dobbo
August - Communication - Mrs Fish
September - Oddities - Prof Higgins

I'm pretty sure someone (was it Martin?) hosted a site with all the winners and runners up on it?

I hope people will post without naming the film.

Could make for an interesting judging session and a nice little end of year challenge to fill the days between Xmas and the new year ... plus if the judge is hungover as promised the observations and comments could provide endless amusement well into January!
