Discussion
We currently have a driver vacancy for Britcar 2007 and would be interested in talking to appropriately experienced and funded drivers.
The car: TVR Sagaris V8 GT. Based on the proven Tuscan Challenge chassis and running gear, fitted with a Chevy LS V8, Ohlin three way dampers, air jacks, 70 litre FIA fuel cell with dry breaks, aero package inc splitter, flat floor, rear diffuser and carbon wing. The car is currently in build and due for testing in March.
The team: A small, very professional team based in Reading. We have two core team engineers (one runs a TVR specialist business, the other is a full time mechanic with Grand Prix Masters), supplemented with additional crew members as required. Excellent paddock facilities with a 7.5 tonne transporter, large awning and flooring. If we had a team motto it would be 'if we do something we do it properly'
Moving from sprint racing to longer race formats we are looking for an additional driver.
Our wish list:
Experience - we want to be competitive but have no particular wish to rebuild the car every weekend, so previous experience of similar cars (~500bhp/tonne) desirable, as is ability to contribute to car set up
Able to commit to the full season (both in terms of funding and time commitment)
We are a small, close knit team and we enjoy our racing. Our second driver needs to fit in well with the team and be prepared to muck in
Funding: price will be dependent on final confirmation of race calendar/format and costs from EERC. Our race package will be priced to reflect the variable costs of racing (tyres, fuel, entry fees, consumables, team fees) and a contribution towards fixed costs (engine/transmission rebuilds, equipment replacement, truck etc) but will exclude accident damage. We view this as a cost share rather than an opportunity to make a profit.
For purely practical reasons it would also be helpful if the driver were a similar height and shape to me - 5'9" and reasonably trim!
For further details and to arrange an informal chat, please contact me via my profile
Kind regards
Andy
