I got it for Chrimbo... it's flinking brilliant.

Actually signed by the man himself and it's limited to 2000 copies. So nice.

Any questions about V10s, send them my way !

Has anyone else got it? What do you reckon?

Only criticism so far are the ruddy adverts! Adverts! In a sixty pound book!

Couple of questions....Why did they stick with V10's when F1 went from 3500cc to 3000cc?

Why was Peugeot's V10 so poor in F1?

Bit like Autocourse at £40 (and rising almost every year)...still the ads will be a historical document in years to come as much as the editorial content

Well, it was the change from 3.5 to 3.0 that increased the use of V10s - during the 3.5 era there were V8 (eg Ford), V10 (eg Ilmor/Mercedes) and V12 motors (Ferrari and Honda) but when the FIA banned funky fuel in 1994 it seems the V12 guys were struggling to match the crankshaft speeds of the V10 lot on 'pump' fuel. What I can glean so far is that the V10 motors also offered a wider, more useable (2,500 rpm - 3,500 rpm) powerband as the revs increased, which led most manufacturers to adopt that configuration before they were mandated.

Engines in the special fuel era peaked at about 750, dropped to 700 at the point that 3.0's were introduced and rose from that figure to beyond 950 bhp (Honda)in the next 10 years.
