Can anyone help with a wiring diagram/instructions for a 1970s Mobelec ignition kit. Its to suit a Ford 1600 xflow (711m) in my Morgan. It came with the car. but was not wired up, & I would like to try it. I have a 'box', with a short black lead (presumably an earth), a long red, long yellow, and long green leads, and the sensor lead and sensor, which goes in place of the points. There is also a separate 'tacho unit', with a yellow and a green lead.
Any help will be welcomed.

The short black lead is the earth. There should be two leads going to the sensor and they should be idiot proofed to make sure they go the right way round.
The red lead goes to the coil positive terminal and the yellow to the coil negative. No idea what the green lead is as I just have 5 wires coming out of mine.......

Many Thanks,
Any sign of a connection to your tachometer, or is it a mechanical one?

You're welcome !
No, connection to tach and shouldn't be necessary if the original tach is electronic, it should still pick its signal up from the original ignition circuit. I guess the Mobelec tach lead is for the attachment of an aftermarket tach, which your's is ?
