Because Oakerthorpe on Tuesday was all about a red Ferrari, the next thing i hear is one has crashed at midnight and the thought did cross my mind as to who it could have been.
I had a couple of my mates ring me in the early hours of the morming to see if i was ok. I have a house near the A50 (Toyota/Findern)as well as Ashbourne. And its one of my fav roads for driving the ferraris from Derby to Stoke. May the dude RIP

Our receptionist is friends with the girl who was in the car and her brother worked for the driver. He's from the coach buillders, Whitakers, which is over the other side of our airfield at Gamston.
Thats 2 crashes and 1 fire over the last 12months in my area!
When I hear stories like this I'm sorta glad that I sold my Ferrari!

A Driver died after he lost control of his £130,000 sports car, causing it to overturn, crash into a ditch and burst into flames.
His teenage passenger, thought to be his daughter, was thrown free of the red two-seater Ferrari when it crashed on the A50 just before midnight last night.
The 15-year-old girl was able to call the emergency services to the scene on the westbound carriageway, between Hatton and the A516 junction at Hilton, following the accident.
Firefighters arrived to find the man, aged in his early 40s, still trapped inside the high-performance Ferrari F430 Spider, which was well alight, upside down and in the water-filled ditch. They used breathing apparatus and specialist cutting equipment to try to rescue the man from the burning car.
But the driver died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The 15-year-old girl was taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary by ambulance following the accident.
Her condition is not yet known but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Firefighters and police officers investigating the crash this morning said they were unsure why the Ferrari had left the road.
The upmarket car is capable of reaching a top speed of 193mph and its powerful 4.3 litre V8 engine can propel it to 62mph in just 4.1 seconds.
Just a handful are sold in the country each year.
Sub-officer Colin Washington, from Red Watch at Derby's Kingsway fire station, said: "When we arrived at the scene the flames were very intense.
"It took a while to put the fire out because some of the car components were made of magnesium, which is quite difficult to extinguish."
The westbound carriageway was closed while an accident scene investigation was carried out and the car was recovered.
It was reopened at 7.50am, allowing traffic to flow normally during the busy morning rush-hour period.
Police said the identity of the man would not be released until all of his family had been informed of his death.
They are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the car before the crash to call 0845 123 3333
