Roof panel adjustment

Has anyone else had experience of having a roof panel reshaped and repainted to improve the fit with the adjoining roll bar/windscreen frame (and if so how successful was it) ?
Reason for the question is that I am about to have this done for my car (Jan 2003 delivered - "MkIII" type roof) under TVR warranty claim. The original fit is not that good, the roof panel dips down noticeably in the middle rather than lining up nicely with the top of the lip on the roll bar.
Having looked at a few other Tuscans I know that they are not all a perfect fit in this area (which I can accept), but mine is a good deal worse than "normal" (and has been since new), so does need some attention. It is being done at the dealers rather than going back to TVR.

It dips by a good 2cm and it collects dirt like nobodies business!
How do you know which Mk roof you have?
I thought this might be happening because the boot lid presses down on it when stowed away?

I'm not sure how big the dip is in the middle of my roof panel, but 2cm (in the middle) sounds about the same, with the panel being lower than the front lip of the rollbar across about two thirds of its width.
When I have looked at the half dozen or so Tuscans that were at Hawthorns on the day I took the car over to get this checked out I reckoned that only one of them had absolutely perfect alignment. The others were all close, with the panel or the rollbar lip being slightly higher all the way along. Mine is the only one I have seen so far with a dip that only goes across part of the panel, but it is quite pronounced.
I only know which type roof I've got (or at least assume I've got) from having read the "Early or Late 2000" thread from earlier today and looking at the info about roof panels.
I don't think the problem in my case is caused by the boot lid pressing down on the roof because the car is new enough that the roof has only been off 4 or 5 times anyway (I will mention it to Hawthorns when I take it in for the work anyway and see what they think).
Bottom line is I suppose I should have been more observant about checking this part of the panel fit when the car was new, then I would know for certain - but I was too caught up in the "kid in the sweetshop" syndrome when I first got it to think about anything as sensible as really making sure I had noticed any glitches.
At least I am going to get this done under warranty - out of interest I will ask anyway to get a rough idea of what the cost of the work is.

I had mine done a few weeks ago but only for fit not the line up with the roll bar.
The paint job was poor and needs redoing and the roof now creaks. They removed the silcon mastik that had been put on at the factory "because it souldn't be there". Maybe it souldn't have been there but it didn't creak.
To cap it all off my roof nearly flew off at Bruntingthorpe last weekend at 150mph, only the front catch kept it on. I was told the rear pins needed adjusting to stop it happening again.
A few lessons I've learnt which may be useful. I think the dealers are really happy to do this kind of warranty work as they are known problems and paid for by TVR.
