996 GT3RS (yes , Again!)
Discussion
I am after one of the above in White/Blue , i know there are a few for sale at the minute but none that take my fancy , waiting for the inevitable "delivery" milage car to pop up at about 80k no doubt
One thing i cannot find on this car is info about the cage , is the front section removable? I mean , do OPC's supply it with the car for you to fit at your leisure when you have a trackday for example?
Reason being , i hate the front section!
All the best

the front section can be removed and I kept mine at the supplying OPC
I would not use the car on the road with the front section in as if you have a head on without
a helmet you will smash your head it to pieces
Im also not sure of the Insurance companies view on this
On the track its a differnt matter - we once saw a blue/white 996 GT3 RS not far from the Nurburgring
in a Garage 2 years ago - it was a LHD car and had a roll at 140mph
I did not had one straight panel and the chap lived due to a full roll bar being fitted
+ be carefull who takes the cage out - make sure its an OPC /Indie which have done a number of removals before or else there will be lumps out of the Interior !
also with the front cage fitted any in balance in the tyres/tracking shows up 10 fold through the front section

exactly as you say,,,,front section is supplied with 996 version (not 997) many owners have taken out and stored front part for road use......when you find a car, check the original owner hasn't left the front section in their loft, even if you are not going to use it, still worth keeping with the car.
