After having left the beast for a little over week I ventured out this morning to find not only is she absolutely flat as pancake but also the boot now won’t open via the key fob.

I know if I open her via the key the alarm will go off all guns blazing and if she is that flat I’m worried the boot won’t open via the switch next to the drivers seat.

Of course I could wait and ask the OPC tomorrow but sods law dictates I actually need to use her for work tomorrow morning and really need to get the car open so at least I can stick her on charge

All help will be very gratefully received.

The keyfob sensor disarms itself after five days. Unlock the car with the key but don't open it!!!! You should then be able to lock/unlock the car on the fob without the alarm going off and get in.

I will go and give it a bash and report back, you may have just saved my bacon!

If you can get into the car with the keys, but still can't get the boot lid open (because you have no power!) open the fuse box under the drivers footwell, there will be a red block, pull this out, connect positive jump lead to this, attach negative to the door latch (you will need another battery obviously) once attached this will give you power to open the hood.

If you are disconnecting the battery, remember to put your keys in the ignition and turn it onto the on position, this will over-ride the back up battery to cause the alarm going off!

For everyone out there, it is always worth buying a trickle charger if the car is lying for a bit!

It's also worth remembering if the battery gets really low, this will cause the alarm to also go off!

Many thanks for the assistance, the beast is alive and well again and p------g the neighbours off!

I tried the suggestion of placing the key in lock and then opening the boot up which worked a treat so many thanks for that
