Has any one tried the MSA licence tracking function on their web site ?

When the renewal forms came it said we could renew on line, I tried to do this but couldn’t figure how to so sent the forms by post. It has been a little while now so thought I would look at the tracking facility but after logging on all I can find in the members area now is an on line application form. I can’t see how to get to the tracking bit.

think you can only renew online if you are getting a kart or non national licence.

you had to provide a photo this time, so i guess they have piles and piles of application forms and have to scan each photo in.

i sent mine off about 3 weeks ago and havent got it back yet

It looks as if you can now renew on line but they have added that bit recently, certainly wasn’t there in December when I posted the forms. What I wanted to do was track the renewal. In previous years you entered the licence number and it confirmed that they were processing it. It says that this is still possible but I can’t find how to do it. Can log on to the members area using the licence No, name and DOB but I cant then progress any further.

If you log on and click member services there should then be three options below the member services bit, change password, update profile and view licence status.
I sent mine off late Nov, they updated in DEC saying they received it and then processing.
No further updates on the site since but I did get my licence back last week.
I don't think the on line renewal bit is fully functional yet.

Well I can’t make it work. I can get to the member services page but only get one option which is renew licence. If I click that it says I already have one.

once you have your licence back, make sure your photo is on it. Mate of mine got his back and they had forgotten to put the photo on. Spoke to the MSA at Autosport show and they said it would not be valid so he has had to send it back.

When did you send it off, the track licence bit will probably only available when they receive it and start acting on it.
edited, just seen when you posted it off, it now seems a while, it may pay you to phone them.

Please could someone who has a licence log onto the MSA site and see if you only get the track licence renewal option. Would like to know if it is just me or if the site is not working.

I logged on yesterday and got three options, they are change password, update profile and view licence status.
When I went to "view licence status", it hasn't been updated since December when they started processing it.

There was a bit of info recently from the MSA that some of the licences were delayed in being processed, something to do with the new photocards being dealt with by an outside contractor.

I think this info was in this week's Motoring (sorry Motorsport) News.

It may be worth giving the MSA a call.

As I understand it the MSA sent a load off to the contractor that makes the credit card licences before Christmas, they (the contractor) then went on a 15 day Christmas / New year shutdown that they hadn't told the MSA about. When they got back to work in the new year they found another batch had just arrived which the processed promptly, completely ignoring the batch that arrivedbefore Christmas. Hence why some people have had their licences delayed a lot and some haven't.

That is my recollection of what ADL said at the officals seminar I attended last weekend. He also mentioned they have doubled the number of people working in the licensing department (to eight) and miscellaneous other people from different parts of the MSA were also doing licences to help with the backlog. He gave a figure of the number of faxes they sent out per day as temporary cover which was insane - something over 1000 as I remember.

Glad I don't need one yet since I'm not competing until Mayday or clerking until Whitsun, no fax facilities at home or at work.

They sent me a temporary one (didn’t ask for it) and the proper one arrived five days later. Still, now the system is in place perhaps next years renewal will be smoother.

I received a temporary one this morning with a letter saying that the photocard would be along before the expiry of the temp. the temp runs out in two weeks, why didnt they give themselves longer? could have made the temp last months if they wanted to. If there is another delay with the photocard they'll have to sort out another temp. Could be giving themselves more work to do at a time when they dont need any more. Seems shortsighted.
