I went past your rented accommodation yesterday and noticed lots of cranes and stuff. They're really expanding it? Or other improvements?

It's not an attendance dig, just wondering what's happening as I didn't think more seating was actually happening but it looks quite major.

Capacity is going up to 55k. Then there is planning permission to go to 61k in the future.

So apparently your average attendance was 46,948 for last season. Based on that and the increase to 55,000 maximum capacity, I make that... one second... it'll still be empty.

The seats are sold out. Therefore we can sell more and get more income into the club. Most clubs report attendances at full capacity and the actual numbers in the ground are a lot lower because some season ticket holders can't go every week.

I don't have a season ticket and struggle getting a ticket on the odd time I can go.

I don't have a season ticket anymore and you have to be quick to get a ticket for most games but hey, let's not let the truth spoil a good ( if not one that's wearing a bit thin now) joke.
Didn't I read somewhere last season, that in the Premiership, the biggest difference between official attendance and actual Police recorded attendance was at Old Trafford?

I did read about that earlier but there was a doubt about the authenticity of the Police figures but seeing as you mention it here's a link

Surely there's a waiting list of fools fans for season tickets and there's no need for them to put them on open sale?
It's not so much they sold out in record time more that the ticket office processed them in record time?

Average attendance just 800 below capacity last season & all league games sold out to home supporters.

Waiting list approaching 10k for season tickets so Definately expansion needed to come in line with FFP (cost of increasing capacity not taken into account so effectively a no brainer in terms of increasing revenue)

Bought our "citizen" cards today and I've started to get excited again about the new season.
I think it's going to be even tougher this season with Arsenal, Chelsea and even those non-acheivers down the road challenging for the title this year,

Could be good with 55k in the council house stadium. Fans will be looking for excitement in the north west now that Gerrard has retired from not winning the world cup to concentrate on not winning the premier league.
