They were saying he hadn't scored in the England before on Radio 5, I should have put a bet on then.

Apparently it's his 90th appearance in European competition.

That's one more than Man City.

Serious question. what is it with you guys ? you are almost unbeatable in the league, but come CL nights you look a bit flat.

We are crap in the league but normally play above ourselves in the CL.

I wouldn't have thought it was just down to the pressure of the night.

Not quite.

UEFA capacity won't be the full 48k, probably nearer 44, maybe less.

That said, it is pathetic. It's not like they've been in the CL every year for the last twenty or whatever, their fans should be chomping at the bit to see European action.

Haven't City got plans to increase the capacity to 60,000?

Seems a bit pointless if they struggle with to fill it for CL games.

37k against Italian league leaders on your first home game of the season is poor ! UTD really are the only big club in Manchester

Loads of empty seats in the title run in last year as well. I used to think City fans were ace - when they were st before the oil rush. Maybe they just have the hardcore fans who always went and the plastic ones since the oil money came in are just a bit... plastic.

I could understand that if Cty or Roma were 3-0 up, but in a close game where a goal for either side would dramatically affect their qualification chances?

If people aren't interested in staying to end of games like this I'm not sure why they would bother to go in the first place.

I went to the Merseyside derby at the weekend, 2 people left 15 minutes before the end (a couple) pure madness and a waste of 2 seats

They probably paid stupid money for the tickets too

Did you do a head check on all the others after the final whistle ?

Let's be honest here, the Champs & Europa league group stage games are as dull as dishwater .

Eh? this couple were sat in front of me and left 15 minutes before the end of ''THE MERSEYSIDE DERBY" what you going on about?

And a home tie against Roma is not dull - I thought the game was very good - we also have Madrid to play at home, City Bayern, Athletic v Juve, Arsenal v Dortmund, Barca v PSG - would not class those as dull -
