Hi folks,

Could any of you V8 owners kindly measure up the length of the wiper blades? I tend to replace oem blades with silicone PIAA blades.

Many thanks

Hi, Could you tell me why you are replacing them - may sound like a silly question but curious.
Thanks

I assume it's the current model, and in which case the rubber blade itself measues 600mm drivers side and 500mm passenger side.

PIAA silicone wipers leave a thin layer of silicone that deposits from the wiper rubber whenever you use them. They are absolutely ideal if you use rainX or similiar hydrophobic windscreen treatments. The wiper action tops up the rainx automatically!!

Or just apply rainx once a year

You could also try these XOPC Silicone Wipers. The classic style ones work out about a tenner a pair cheaper than the piaa ones, and the xopc ones have a 1 year gurantee and a "money back if not satisfied" thingy. They also fo a retrofit flatblade in silicone. I've got a pair of those. Theyre great. I got them because i go to Scandinavia a lot in the car, & these guys say thir wipers stay flexible down to -60°C, so you don't get unswept patches on cold winter mornings, & if it freezes overnight, the silicone won't get frozen to the windscreen so you won't break your wipers if you accidentally turn them on before de-icing the screen. Stayed at the Ice Hotel one night & it was -27°C outside (& -15°C inside!). Next day was no problem.

I bought mine from http://www.xopc.co.uk/silicone_wiper_blades.htm

here's a pic of the Flatblade type & they have pics of the classic ones on the site also. I think the classic ones are about £12 each with spoiler ones costing an extra 50 pence

Having said all that, i don't imagine many AM V8 Vantages are left out all night summer or winter, or dragged around the arctic in winter come to that. LOL
