general admission tickets british GP

do any of you guys buy a general admission ticket for the GP at silverstone? i usually buy a grandstand seat (always have done) but funds are a bit low for some friends and so we might be considering joining the great unwashed this year.

do you still get to see all the action? is it just as good sitting on some grass as opposed to the luxury of a thin plastic seat (ahem). ?

we sat in the middle of the circuit (on the grass)a couple of times which was very cool, less crowded, but i dont think bernie likes that so he put it some 'special tents' for the sponsors guests...

Watched last year at the corner before Hanger Straight and saw the first lap shunt with Ralfy and Heidfeld (?) good place to watch seeing the cars come sweeping through Becketts and Maggots on the way then hearing them power down Hanger.

Watched Friday in the grandstand outside Copse which was impressive seeing them tentatively putting the trying to go through the corner at full throttle and eventually suceeding.
Also watched up by Luffield for the Porsche Super Cup.

We wandered around on Saturday watching from all over the place.

Deffo worth it!

You wont be able to get into the infield again this year, I went just to watch a few years back with the £99 ticket and I felt it was better than being stuck in the same spot all weekend!
Marshalling this year so hopefully I'll get a good view!

get there early and find a spot at club. best spot ofr gen admission seats

Remember that you won't be allowed in the grandstand or some terraces (pit straight, Copse & Luffield, I think) with ground admission tickets on Saturday (and obviously Sunday - but I'm not sure about the Friday)
