following on from my personailised post yesterday about changing the exhuast on my 996tt i contacted David @ OPC cambridge where i bought the car. he then supplied me with a number for porsche uk.

I spoke to a friendly guy about changing the exhaust on the tt as porsche don't do a sports one. He informed me that if worse case the engine went they would honour the warranty as putting an exhaust on would not do enough strain in the first place. They would not however obviously warranty the exhaust or associated parts.

so off hunting for a system now.

Spent some time looking into these exhausts today myself..quite expensive and all of them appear to be quite similar in spec..going for a DMS one myself as it should match the re-map best and also a lot cheaper than most.

You'll be able to ask the DMS crowd to put it in writing for you then that there is no way Porsche can tell if the car has been remapped as well

Good job Rick. Im in the process of going through with the purchase of a tt at the moment. The car has a full Tubi system including the 100cell race cats. The sound is out of this world.

Check out scuderiasystems.com for more info. Seriously decent piece of kit.

might I gently suggest that you get this in writing?
or email him with your understanding of the conversation with a response politely requested

before i go ahead i will get something from porsche ideally to that effect but thanks for the advice.

from my point of view if putting an exhaust made the engine or turbos go pop then there must have been weak or something wrong before hand. obviously changing the ecu puts increases the factors.
