Which air filter upgrade for 2004 Boxster S?

Not looking to 'Max-power' my 550, but put a K&N replacement filter on last 2.7 and really think it made a better sound..anyone got any views on other filters to get better noise/power/response etc!? Thanks

K&N's are OK (although some worry they don't filter as effectively as a convential paper filter) but removing the snorkel from the air intake makes a far more significant impact on induction noise & costs nothing.
