Any recommendations for any particular tyre for this car gents? I know I'll probably get as many opinions as people responding but all opinions are valued.

It's on the standard 205/55 16's at the moment. The OE firestones are nearly dead and I didn't like them at all - harsh and crashy, noisy, AND they moved around too much in fast corners. The car gets an occasional spirited drive, but at the same time I'll be p1ssed off if the new boots are dead in 10000 miles, so probably need a compromise tyre rather than an out and out performance one.

Currently erring towards Conti premium contacts as I've heard good things about them.

Over to you!

Goodyear Eagle F1's are good esp in the wet, I had them on my 155 V6 and I was very impressed.

Most Alfas seem to like F1s, but he wants to get more than 10,000 miles out of the fronts!

It would be my recommendation too though.

The OE's have lasted for 30k!

My excuse is the Mrs drives it most of the time

Oh get F1s then. They'll do 15,000 at least on that basis.

Can be quite noisy though.

F1 GSD3's would be my choice as well. Were great on my 156.

In the end I went for Conti Sport Contact 2's

Marginal improvement in turn in and mid corner stability, but they certainly aren't the sportiest things out there. However there is a MASSIVE improvement in ride quality (no more crashing and shuddering through potholes) and noise.

£280 for 4 fitted at Micheldever. Happy overall

Toyo Proxis are the best tyre on the market. Then i would pick the Vredsteins, followed by the Goodyear Eagles.
