looking at a new company car and want to be a bit diff so contemplating ditching the BMW.
, Audi mold.... afew questions

- the 159 as it stands is a fantastic car, but with the alfa poor rep in say 3 -4 yrs time will it stil hold the same presidge as as the aforemetioned ( I have to keep co car for 4 yrs and dont want to be left with a turkey)

- not bothered about running cost as company car ( sod it its prob the only time i'll get alfa)... run a tvr n that aint cheap but thats not my e day car.

2.2 Jts 159 with beige interior ... contemplated red but decided that is best left to GT and brerea.... may be natural ??? any thaughts ???

Cheers

Hoover, ( current every day stead is Mazda 6 ts2)

Clarkson gave this a v good review in the Times (must admit i got the mazda on the trade recomendation as i was banned when i ordered it)

Don't really understand this bit. If it's fantastic now, why won't it be in 3 or 4 years time?
confused

I would go for the natural leather over biege. I had it on one of my old (company) Alfas with a black exterior, and it was one of those leathers that looked better as it wore and got some wrinkles in it. The red looks fantastic too.

The 156 is still looking good after, what - 7 or so years? The 159 looks even better to start with so I can't see that it will be looking too bad in 4 years' time.

Sounds good. Mangoletsi are promoting some excellent contract rates on 3.2s at the minute.

my lease company are offering attractive rates as well - certainly no more expensive than comparably priced German metal

looking forward to my time with the 3.2 but fear that everything I've read on here about it being slow/heavy will put me off

(an R32 is being delivered for a 2 day demo the same day that the 159 gets picked up which won't make the lack of poke any less apparent)

The best way to own an Alfa - all the bills paid by the company. If I had the choice, I would go for an Alfa everytime. Go for the naughtiest engine you can - who cares! The company are taking the hit on the residual value - have fun!

unfortunately the most naughty engine is still leaves the 159 trailing behind a 330d.....

I'm really really hoping that the other Alfa qualities will win me over and I'll forgive the less than electrifing performance.....

Depends if your priority is "sufficiently quick" or "fastest car I could get".

and that depends on what kind of mood I'm in.....sometimes I'm actually content with my 140bhp Audi's performance believe it or not...but at other times I castigate myself for choosing such a woefully inadequate car

suffice to say, the only solution will be to thrash the pants off the loaned 3.2 for 4 days to see whether its got enough to keep me smiling for 3 years....

Hi

There are some really good deals out there on the Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 Q4 as Alfa UK have not sold many, if any of the cars they brought into the country. There is talk about the engine being discontinued.

If one of these cars is of interest to you there will be some really good deals to be had, if you are a cash buyer you could get up to 25%, that’s is my opinion.

As for the colour of the trim, Natural.

Ned

yeah, but I bet 'catering for' will mean lots of extra costs

36k at 3 years old is a whole lot more saleable than 60k plus

But the 156 V6 wagon leaves a 330 petrol off the lights.

(as proved by me last night and yes I'm feeling a) rather smug and b) wondering what the hell happened lol)

There's a brand new 159 in our car park, black, tan-ish leather seats, and even tough I'm not normally a tan hide fan, it's rather suited.

black with red leather will be my colour of choice

unfortunately, the 159 V6 is slower than the 156 V6!
