I have a mystery gash on the front bumper of my silver Mustang that requires the loving and expert attention of one of those invisible paint sprayers. Does anyone know or recommend such a person from personal experience. I know Honda did a similar repair on a wing mirror on the CTR and that was brilliant so may ring them to see who they used.

In the meantime, CURSES!

You never call me, e-mail or phone & I am sulking Lucy Fur... You only had to ask:- Try Car Medic, Steve Stockwell. He does all of the car dealerships' vehicles. 02920705602 or 07810581006. Alternatively, use silver nail polish from your make-up bag....

Is he the guy that does the work for Lovett's?

Yes - but it is better to call him privately as Lovett tends to add a 150% mark-up.

Hey, Smiffygas, just noticed that you got a new Renault Clio. What engine ? Just purchased a new 1.4 Dynamique S for my son. Renault Cardiff were useless and ended up getting it from Braintree Essex. The new car needs to be picked up. How are you finding yours ?

Mines the 1.5 DCI 106. Its nippy to say the least. I agree with you on the Renault Cardiff front. Used them for a test drive & ordered the car via an internet broker & saved over £2000!

Went in there for a test drive with son in tow on Saturday. Totally ignored so went to Wessex Newport. Got a test drive - but they are giving up Renault franchise in May...So, back to Cardiff on Sunday and they could not be more unhelpful. No deal - so got on the net and got a good deal in Essex. Saved £1,500.00 & a great part/x. Glad you like yours. Maybe see you Sunday on run driving

Bloody hell, not another car! Have you entered the King Of Pistonheads competition? It tends to reward people who change their cars like their underwear (so in your case, every 3 years...)

Actually, Lucy-fur, he of the American Car Museum of Caerphilly - because I have soooo much money, and change my family's car's so often, I do not change my underwear, I just go out and buy new, every day..!! yikes In fact, the only reason I change the cars is because the ashtrays get full and we find it hard to change gear. In reality, the Renault is three years old, and true to form started to fall to bits. !! Great engines, good gearbox - a good car - just too much plastic and glue used in production.

Is that why your Maserati is an automatic? But wait, none of you smoke......so there was no excuse after all

Good lord, man, not 3 years old! And there's my old 3rd gen Camaro still going after 20 years of daily use (pauses for the multi-yardage Austin Arthritis age to be wheeled out) and even Clarkson couldn't break one over the course of over 800 miles abuse. Apparently, (and don't sprread this round) when cars begin to fall apart, you can actually repair them. I know, hard to believe isn't it?

So with that critique and damning indictment of French build quality...what's that you say? You bought another one?

Ah, but as with the second world war, the French learn by their mistakes. The new Renault is actually a very good car and has much bigger ashtrays. All the better to collect the various bolts that fall off from time to time.

What did the French learn from the Second World war then? How to surrender more efficiently?
Corsa looks better though and at least build cars in the UK. Haven't the French packed up and left (surrendered...).

Wrong...yikes Mr Lucy-Fur, the new Corsa is built in Spain. The new three door may be a good size for the advertising campaign glove puppets, but is no good for large lads (& ladies )... The French learnt how to have flair and individuality to counter the Germans. It was the Italians who gave up and went backwards !! I know a lot about the war. My mother was German. My father was English. They argued over my schooling - but my mother won when she made me invade Poland.....laugh

Apologies, Mr Maser-Potato, I didn't say Corsa, I omitted the word GM (if it's a word). They build at Luton and Ellesmere Port. Renault build in that country across the Channel - Guernsey I think? It's good to see the French have learnt how to have flair and individuality - are they hiding it behind a bookcase in Amsterdam or is it in the ashtray? I think you're forgetting the Clio ad which underlines that it was designed by an Englishman. Doh! Making your superminis look like everyone else's was a shot of brilliance that was totally unexpected! Making the 197 softer and less focused than the 182 was a masterclass in Francogenuic lateral thinking!

I was talking to your mother the other day, Adolf is an odd name for a woman I must say. Your father being English is not something you should shout loudly but explains a lot as I think he may have designed Clio Laine (Johnny Dankworth, Dankworth very much indeed). I have obtained the transcripts of their arguments over your schooling but to be fair, I think they should have sent you and not had you adopted.

Still, it's good to see you supporting the car industries of the defeated nations in WW2 - that's France, Germany and Italy so far. I guess those of us supporting the winners will just have to live with the moral repercussions. (sings) Oh say can you see......
