Creation by The Pierces.
Stunning album. Every track is different yet somehow they manage to maintain the essence of who they are throughout. Nothing sounds like it was put there to fill space - every track is outstanding in its own right and the album, collectively, contains as many ideas as many other famous artists have taken their entire careers to have.
Think late '60s/early '70s 'flower power' feel, Simon & Garfunkel, Goldfrapp, Belinda Carlisle ... gorgeous harmonies, unexpected and satisfying chord changes, catchy melodies, subtle synthy bits that sound like The Pet Shop Boys or Vince Clark got to breathe on it at the production stage ... just magic
Now that is the kind of post in here that leads one off to investigate; good work! Stunning album. Every track is different yet somehow they manage to maintain the essence of who they are throughout. It's subjective, of course, but the more I listen to it the closer I come to the conclusion that it's the best album I've ever owned. If you do buy it make sure you get the 'deluxe' version which has an extra three tracks which would be a shame to miss, especially Stange Love which is utterly haunting with its vocals hinting at Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer.Just bought World on Fire by Slash and it's superb, I can't stop listening to it and I've only had it 3 days! As much as I liked Apocalyptic Love this is better by quite a margin, the band sound really cohesive with great vocals and obviously great guitar work. Well recommended!

Bleak Strategies by The Dowling Poole
Thoughts on it?I feel like I ought to buy it in support as I generally buy anything Wildhearts related and quite like Jackdaw4 but just not sure whether it'll be my thing. Is it good?
Bit of a spree this week
Simian Mobile Disco - Whorl, bit of a departure this one for them and all the better for it with the music recorded allegedly in the desert in real time. Kind of get the atmosphere from it that this is what happened, great early morning/late night music.
Aphex Twin - Syro, just classic Aphex Twin enough said.
and at long last
Jon Hopkins - Immunity, total masterpiece that I've listened to countless times but only just got round to buying on vinyl.
All come highly recommended if you like your music electronic
