what's the chances of tracking down an owner from reg number

came out of a petrol station near Venlo on friday, to find a bloke picking up my mirror from the ground, after trying to put it on again i finally understood that it wasn't him that had knocked it off - he saw it happen and took the reg plate of the caravan (you dutchies and your caravans )that did it.
it was just near the border so i set off quick to try and catch up with the 'van but no joy, and the mirror is broken, needs to be completely replaced (not just the glass, the whole plastic thing)
surely it should all be on video too

will their be any international co-operation to track down this evil-doer?

Sad to hear that hapend to your car, some people can't drive but thats no excuse for not leaving a number behind...maybe they did not feel a thing when they town a big caravan? anyway if you have the licenceplate number you can fill that in on this website and then it shows you the car that town the caravan and specs but not adresses ofcorse.

Why don't you give a call to the Dutch police (and get some value from my tax Euro for once! ). There is an International phone number on: 0031 343 57 88 44. I'm sure they will be willing to help you if you explain the situation and that there was a witness.
