I understand a new Lotus Sport 135R is coming out later this month. Standard features include a 135 PS engine, close ratio gearbox, OZ racing wheels, Yokohama AO48 tires, sports suspension, Bilstein dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bar. Looks like a good track package, but still usable on the road.

Two questions:

1. How would this compare to the Sport 190 both on the track and on the road?

2. Can a 111 be kitted out with these same extras?

Thanks!

Its a std S2 with a 135 head and the Lotus Sports Suspension & wheels package. The 135's usually put out around 140bhp with a few bolt-ons.

The LSS/Wheels package is around £3K fitted and can go on any S2, a few guys I know have it. The Yokos are great on track and in the dry, but not recommended in the wet (winter use) so keep your old wheels/tyres too.

I would imagine the 135R would corner pretty much the same as a 190 as it has an identical set up (unless you spend £40K on the 190 and have the Racing Dynamics dampers) obviously its not gonna be quite as quick being 50bhp down etc

If you have the money then go for an S2111S + LSS (£32K ish) ...if not then buy a 2nd hand S2 for £19K and spend away on the mods ! £3-4K for 190bhp + 3K for LSS
