I have decided to treat myself to a nice Breitling. As I am not comfortable buying something like this on the web where is the best place to buy from.

Is it worth taking a trip to save some money and get a free holiday? Given the current exchange rates I am thinking that the states might be the cheapest option. What sort of savings could I expect and does anyone know any better options?

Bought mine from the US, although I suspect a trip to Dubai would pay for itself.

Have not yet decided which one of these to go for.

Blackbird with steel bracelet.

Chronomat Evolution, black dial with silver sub dials and steel bracelet.

Super Avenger, black dial with silver sub dials and steel bracelet.

Chrono Avenger M1, black dial with silver sub dials and titanium bracelet.

Without a doubt speak to Dominic @ Lumbers Jewellers in Leicester, the absolute best!

He has seen to my needs 3 times now (ooh er misses) and the service gets better each time (and so do the discounts! )

Thanks for the advice so far but I was hoping to go somewhere a little more exciting than Leicester.

Birmingham?

Go on the web for prices in the countries you want to visit, once you've worked out the best deal, go there, chances are you'll buy it from the airport.

I'm sure breitlings are a good bit cheaper in Dubai I would expect about 30% off U.K. list price. I haven't been there for a few years though.

I got a good 40% off in Hong Kong but again, that was a while back.

www.watchesplanet.com/breitling.htm

this may give you some idea on prices

Have had a look at some prices from web based resellers - as much as 50% saving in the US. However the Breitling website says that non of there approved dealers will sell via web and therefore no warranty and possible fake and they do not seem to give web addresses for their approved dealers.

I have now found some email address for one of their dealers in Dubai and sent an email. What about the Caribbean anyone bought a watch there?

Cheapest place i've found for watches is the duty free shop in Male in the Maldives. Get a good deal on a watch and a great holiday too! Bought my last Breitling there.

In Barbados, breitlings were about 30% off last year.

yes Maldives, got a superb lappy
Second best Dubai

The biggest advantage is you get the latest products long before they have arrived in the UK

Try looking up abbots in St Johns in Antigua, they do all the big names and are positioned for all the crew ships stopping there. All prices are in Dollar equivalent to Pound prices so 1/2 price.

There is a link through britlings website.

I would say Dubai. They have actual Breitling shops here, not just jewellers that sell them.
