First of all, thanks for all your input on my 'worried aout winter' thread. It's all been really useful, and it's good to have a plan of action in place.

Here's what I intend to do, stage by stage, with a breather inbetween each to take stock of the improvements and see if I need to shell out on the next one!

1. Play around with tyre pressures
2. Get alignment set up
3. Upgrade suspension (Nitrons)
4. Maybe change tyres (Toyo's?)
5. Possibly get traction control

Anyone know the cost of 2 - 5?

You didn't start with driver training, that should be the first step in any upgrade program. For the rest of it, assuming you're planning normal road use I expect the standard factory settings would be about right so relatively cheap to get this checked - maybe £50? If you're talking about a full professional suspension setup to suit your particular car and driving preferences, this could run into hundreds though. Nitrons roughly £250 - £500 a corner depending which spec you go for. Traction control between £1000 and £2000 depending how much of the installation and set up you do yourself.

You're looking at spending several thousands on this lot and I'd really advise you to spend a significant part of that on training instead - you will get far greater benefits.

hi again sally just pickin up a point from v8s regarding driver training may be you could swap cars with someone from the "smoke" and then you would get a second opinon on
(a)the general set up of your car
(b)by driving another tuscan whether you will actually need some driver training
i hope you get your car sorted for the next "tuscan convoy"!!!! regards tony

Sally - did you get into Racing Green today? What did they say. I had my Chim geometry set up by them including wheel balancing for around £170. I know it's a different car but its a guide.
Hope you get the problem sorted soon These handling things have a habit of being multiplied by the brain. The more you concentrate on them the more acute the problem appears to be.

1. Play around with tyre pressures - FREE
2. Get alignment set up - £120 approx
3. Upgrade suspension (Nitrons) - £900 or £1600 for Öhlins 2 way adjustables.
4. Maybe change tyres (Toyo's?) - Pirelli P Zero? (£600)
5. Possibly get traction control - £2000

All in all should cost between £3,500 and £5,000! Good luck!

GreenV8S -
There are definitely mechanical issues that need dealing with before I would consider taking it anywhere *near* a track. To do so now would be insane.
