Anyone know of anyone who is has been asked to enter this?

Supposed to be a hell of an event, testing both straightline speed, acceleration and handling. No doubt it will be won by an 800bhp Skyline but it would have been good to see some TVRs giving it a go..

I own a 550bhp Skyline and will not be able to enter as all the other skylines interested make mine look like a slug.
I'm also an ex Cerbera owner who attended last years TOTB event which was very good but lacking a few cerberas. There is a separate event for 2wd and 4wd so they won't have to compete directly, last years main 2wd were supras and vipers, both of which would struggle against a good cerbera.
Would be nice to see some blackpool built machinery there.

Don't get me wrong... that was not not sarcasm I really do think it will be won by an 800bhp Skyline (I hear that Ronnie has modified his even more this year). They have decided to have the final event with the winners of the other categories all together to establish an overall winner.

Having owned a Cerbera and now a modded Viper i wouldn,t get your hopes up to much on beating a Viper,the ones running this year will be putting out over 700bhp,but if you think you can clock a 0-500 meter time in under 12 seconds with a terminal speed near the 150 mark then go for it,ours is looking to do a standing mile at 190 this year!(Zonda does it at around 184 ).Would just love the chance of blowing a Cerbera into the weeds and settle the score one and for all.
think there's a foolish rumor that a viper can't go around corners where did that come from ?, last year the vipers had 6 of the fastest times in the top ten around the handling course in their class, the only thing faster was a light weight fury fireblade and that held the 2 fastest runs.
a little track by me in Lichfield which takes just over 35 seconds to complete, a stock viper still holds the track record for its class, even though the TVR club used to have regular meets there !, even went to a few myself. No I'm not biting... I too would love to see some Cerbera's or Tuscans up there, modded or not

What does that prove? That a heavily modded viper beats a standard TVR, or a standard anything else for that matter. If you carry this argument to its logical conclusion we'd all turn up in top fuel dragsters.
Don't get me wrong I like vipers and like modded cars even more but comparing them to standard cars is silly. After all it is just a question of money, how fast can you afford to go?
Having said all that I like the idea of a 700hp car, did you have to get most of the tuning work done in the states?

HI ROB,Yes good point on modded cars&non modded,my car in U.K spec had around 378bhp,with the euro air restrictor (bit of plastic in air box) and the standard over muffled exhaust boxes removed takes things up to the USA models 450 bhp...then we added a sports exhaust /free flowing exhaust manifolds/K.N filters and our up to 500bhp..then one the engine has been made to breath we added larger throttle bodies/larger air box/larger inlet ducts/roller rocker followers...then were up to 550bhp.So with only very basic tunning this engine will provide lots of power.Our car runs NOS that ads another 150+,but porting /polishing/race clutches/lighter flywheel can add much more.The lemans cars that run the same block and heads run at 850+ for the full 24 hours without problems,but power outputs of 1200 bhp are know in the USA(Over kill).Also many of the tuning firms that helped with the FIA Vipers offer many handling kits for the Vipers these days although the handle quiet wel as standard as club results have shown.But i guess a highly modded Cerbera would be great to see ,i only question the strength of the cars if this was done ,my own 2000 Cerbera felt like a race car straight out of the box,but i felt was of poor quality and i don,t think it would handle more than another 100-150 bhp without major reliability issues,but someone please tell me otherwise?Has an AJP been tuned over the 420 bhp claimed and if so to what ?Sorry i was not trying to knock TIVs.

A RedRose cerbie gives about 400bhp out of the box and then you can work on it from there. Apparently some guy Joolz mentioned (Julian Rowntree?) has had a RR conversion and then done some mods to make the engine breathe properly. Not sure what bhp he got but Joolz seemed very pleased, apparently the car will feature in a sprint article next month, or something.

Would be interested to know what mods done and power output.(didn,t know you could improve the ajp8 breathing as very similar to the Tuscan racer ajp8,s,and i would guess that they are well moded for breathing?)
