Have used the four days off over Easter to do a few jobs on the Cerbera. One being the valve clearances.
No problem with the valve clearances but am having trouble getting an oil tight seal on the cam covers.
Have tried various amounts of silicon sealer but still seem to get a leak on inside edge of camcovers
anyone here had similar problem and found a solution?

Hi. Sorry I dont have an answer to your leaky cam covers but I was curious to know how you go about adjusting the valve clearances on your cerby. I have a 4.2 and I have thought about doing this my self to save some money. What are the clearances ment to be and where do you get hold of the shims.

On my 4.5 the clearances are 10 ex 8 in. they are fairley easy to do if you have a little mechanical knowledge you will need to make something to stop the cam sprocket droping when you remove the camshafts.
I got shims from my local dealer but he wasnt keen to supply them. There is no TVR part number for the shims but If you take the old ones to exchange I'm shure you should get some. I am going to see if I can source some from my 'Wurth' supplier who supplies me with motobike shims. How can TVR sell a car and not supply service items for them?
