With the recent-ish thread about Alfa levels of customer service...
where will the 8C's be serviced?
Main dealer ? Wonder what 8C owners will think to getting a Punto for a loaner when dropping their 100k's worth of supercar for a service?
or will they be handled at Maser / Fezza dealers ?

I have basically decided against it. I said that previously and changed my mind again, but Ive now decided it simply isnt worth the price...esp after seeing the pathetic luggage capacity for what they are trying to tout as a sporting GT. I was seriously unimpressed at that.

The SZ was 42,000 - 45,000 I think, not certain, which put it about the same as a 964 (46,000*) and a good bit less than a 348 (74,000*). So if you look at the 8C at 105,000 and compare it to today's 997 at 61,000 and 430 at 119,000 then it's relatively a bit dearer than the SZ was.
* these figures are from 92, when the RZ was launched, so might be a little bit different from when the SZ was first available in 90.

Yep, plus there's not enough cup-holders and apparently you can't even get a towbar as an option. What on earth are they thinking?

It is marketed as being a sporting GT car, albeit an Alfa special, but its primary function is to be just that...a sporting GT. To do that it needs to be able to take enough luggage for 2 for a 2 week Continental holiday. The 8C fails in that quite basic requirement for me.
I buy cars with a practical mind, not a sentimental mind.

They said they'd build 500, they're apparently massively over-subscribed, so I'm guessing they successfully aimed the car at people who wanted that car not people who wanted a car of that type.
As Velocemitch said, most likely Maserati dealers for servicing, but I don't know if there's a formal announcement about it.

Umm, do people who buy 105k limited edition cars go on 2 week driving holidays?? For starters, how would you sleep at night with your car in the public car park?

Yes, me. Family has a house down near Bordeau, I always drive down there, I like the drive and we have some of the best roads in Europe around the house. Ive driven down in 1.6MX5s, MG TFs, Griffith, Sagaris, rented some Picasso thing from the Airport after to flying down and Ive always treated them the same out there. Park them in the same places, often leaving the roof down on the softop...never had problems. Sleeping at night isnt a problem. Hell last yr we drove down in the Sagaris overnight and when feeling tired, I just pulled over into an aire de repas, turned the engine off, put head against the leather covered rollbar and we took 40 winks quite happily. Why would I treat an 8C or a Vanquish any different?
Sorry, but it pisses me off massively that ppl now think that the car just exists is its raison d'etre in the first place, or that its beauty is the first job of the car. No they arent. The first job is what they are designed to do...be that sports cars, track cars or GT cars. This thing was designed to be a good looking, exclusive 2 seater GT car. It fails a fairly basic requirement of the job though.

I don't doubt you believe that, which is why I made the point before about the right car vs the right owner. To some people what it is is just as important as what it does. Although it's obvious you're not one of those (echoed by your 'a car is just a car' on the Veyron crash thread) the fact that the car is massively over-subscribed suggests that there are enough 'sentimental' people around for the car to meet it's actual purpose of attracting people to the brand, of making them desire an Alfa Romeo. Hopefully Alfa Romeo will sell them to people who realise the car's value as well as it's cost.
