Oil

I've had my cerby '98 4.2 for 2 months now and done approx 1700 miles. I've been reading past remarks on oil consuption. Its used around 3litres. I know they use oil but it seems too much. My quesions are.
1. What oil does everyone use? I use mobil 1 0w40.
2. If i change to 'thicker' oil will it decrease oil consuption?

I think there are lots of myths re oils. But I would expect your usage to decrease if you went for Mobil 1 Motorsport.

By the way.Did you have a good time in sandbanks. I didnt see you at sandbanks. I was stopping in the flats right next to the ferry. Saw a few chims, but no cerbys.

I use 0 40.
Didnt take the Cerb down. Not enough room for all the kids stuff. Saw a couple of cerbs on the journey - one dark blue one heading north on the M3/M27 at lunchtime on Sat. And saw a light (estori) blue one heading south on the M3/M27 Monday lunchtime.
