I have just booked the date for this years charity track day.

As a lot of you know I have ran over the last few years a charity track day

Details from the last couple of years -
I organised a trackday with Motorsports events at Keevil (near Trowbridge, wilts) to raise money for Beds Autism. A charity that supports my son and my family. We raised over £1300 each year and the people who attended get a great value and social track day.

Beds Autism site here www.autismbeds.org/

Date -
Monday 14th May

Location -
Keevil, Steeple Ashton, near Trowbridge, Wilts. A great track with miles of run off and nothing to hit - a great venue for your first track day.

Format -
Same as last year 3 quick sessions so everybody gets to know the track and then an open pit lane.

Noise -
100db

Costs -
£69 (SAME AS 2005 and 2006) to be paid to MSE when booking (this bit covers the costs of the track, marshals, first aid etc) and then a min of £20 (WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK OF RAISING THIS TO £30?) signing on fee to be paid on the day (this is the charity bit. and as you can see we raised more from extra donations last year aswell)

Booking -
Call Natasha at Motorsport events on 0870 7872116 or 07855 482953, there web site is www.motorsport-events.co.uk

Sponsorship-
I also have an opportunity for a company or companies to sponcer the Elise for the day. please drop me an email if you are interested in getting your name in front of some petrolheads or entertain your clients on track.

See you all soon
Nic

100db limit unfortunately else I'd sign up. My Chim runs about 115 odd at present when under load though not sure on idle.
How are the noise tests performed?

No not full yet but Natasha from MSE will be sending out an email to all of her database w/c 2nd april and as this day is cheaper than normal aswell as for a good cause and all Keevil events book up I think it might be full very soon.

As for noise tests - 3/4 rev and half a metre at 45 degrees from exhaust. We did have a griff and an old 260z with a griff engine in last year and both pasted with flying colours. My advice would be to pop along to any circuit and they are all happy to test you. At least you will know.

A friend of mine may have access to a DB meter through work so I'll be able to check in a couple of weeks - I don't want to book now and find out I'm too loud - whats the latest we can book?. Was the Griff you mentioned standard? My Chims had straight throughs put in place so is louder than standard. Also, whats the circuit like in terms of stones? I did an airfield day last year and the surface was covered in grit (to give traction to the Tornados) and my car was peppered. I've just had a full front end re-spray so don't want to ruin it too much.
Will there be any tuition bookable on the day?
Also, if passengers are allowed to tag along I'll gladly take people for a spin though hopefully not literally, should I be able to make it.

GT Girl - of course you can have a passenger ride - I can get you in to lots of different cars over the day - if you promise to put some money in the tin!!!!!

As for the Griff - I did not look under the car at the pipes but I know the 260z had very big pipes on it. And the surface is very good with no stones. F1 teams use it for straight line tests so a good surface.

hope that helps!!!

zippee sorry - tuition is avaiable all day and the latest you can book - well not sure on that yet as we have had 25 bookings so far and it has not been emailed out yet, that will happen w/c 2nd april to MSE database, so it should fill by the end of that week.

all going well but just want it filled now.

I have heard that our local Lloyds TSB who my wife works for have said that they will match what ever we make. The last couple of years we have raised about £1200 each time so doubling that will be so good.

Hence why I want it filled as this money does so much for a charity like Beds Autism as they get no help from the government.
