With the F1 season starting up again this weekend with an early morning race, there will be some of us who stay up and watch it live, then there will be the pople that wont. Please if you do watch the live showing of the race please dont post the race results in the title of a thread. If you are going to post the results in the thread please put something in the thread title to warn people.

Thanks
WVM

the only caveat to this is

IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE RESULT - STAY AWAY FROM F1 THREADS!

hell, when i've recorded a race because i've been away, I stay away from motoring/news websites all together - its not that hard for a few days you know!

Agreed - we had arguments last year because of a thread title that reflected an overtaking move - the thread was posted whilst the race was going on but the move turned out to be pivital to the result. The thread title was objected to as it seemed to some that it gave away the result (which hadn't happened at the time the thread was posted...)

So I agree thread titles should not show the result BUT keep away if you don't want to know.

Can we maybe just make sure we include 'SPOILER' in the thread title?

How about...someone starts "THE OFFICIAL AUSTRALIAN F1 GP THREAD INCLUDING SPOILERS" today, will start off with hopes/predictions, then go on to include reaction to Friday practice, Saturday Qually and Sunday Race, Scrutineering rows etc. That way there should just be one thread (and no-one start a "that was a great move by....." thread :nono) thumbup

In fact, I've decided to do it! www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=367745&f=42&h=0 Sorry if I'm treading on any toes, just thought it would help alleviate any problems. If it works we can do the same for each race, MotoGP, BTCC, WRC et al

but lets face it...

if the title is "Australian Grand Prix" - and its on after the live race has been run - you'd have to be pretty stupid to read it if you havent seen the race yet...

This is a very good point.
