I saw a VX Turbo for sale at a place in preston, and was quite fancying that, but when I phoned, the guy said he wouldnt budge on the price, even though I was going to be making a cash purchase with no trade in. I never pay the asking price for anything if I can help it, and if he cant be bothered giving me an incentive to drive the 140 miles down there then why should I bother.

I am going seeing this

either tomorrow or next weekend. Bit of a treck like, but it looks the ideal car for me!

How you finding your VX then?

Very Nice! Good that it's had the cambelt changed - should save you a few hundred pounds. I was look at the air con options on the 111S, and that car would have ticked all my boxes as it's got a hard top too.

VX is fantastic! i've already driven 2000 miles in two weeks! I go to work each day on the motorway and it sits really happily at 3000 rev's which is about 80mph (My Mini Cooper S was travelling at 70 in sixth gear at 3000 rev's) and is then a complete beast in the twisties and A roads. The acceleration when the turbo kicks in is fantastic! - makes me smile all the time especially the noises from the engine.

We're driving to France in May and going to take the VX as distances aren't a problem - I haven't yet got out the car and felt glad not to be driving it anymore.

Good luck with your search - and don't rule a VX out.....!!

Just to update you, I didnt go for either a 111s or a VXT. I bought a bog standard 120bhp, 2002 Elise, ardent red with no mods but in mint condition. Fairly high miles, but at 11.5k, you cant really complain! Picking it up this weekend. It was only 10 miles away as well. Amazing the things which come up isnt it!
