Funnily enough just had a letter from Alfa Customer Service. They've closed my local brilliant Alfa dealer, Medway Alfa & I'd have to go (if I still had the car) from Medway to either Canterbury or Tunbridge Wells!
Stupid, stupid decision & A. They'll be getting a letter later & B. Damn glad I bought a Jag not a 159 or 166 which I debated on!

As I understand it, the dealers get a choice - get with the new programme or lose the franchise. It's just a shame they are closing dealers before the new ones are opening!!!

I got the same letter. I thought Pipers in Maidstone were the local boys and they still look like they are there though!

I bought my 156 (on ebay) from a guy in Cornwall.
He told me that there are now no Alfa dealers in Devon or Cornwall!

Just spoken to my commercial director and they are closing the new car sales part of Medway Alfa. It is still going to be a service centre.beer

All of our company fleet is Alfa's and they are brilliant. So it is not all bad, at least they will still be able to service your motors.

As i remember there was a good service only alfa dealer in cornwall, run by the Ongaro's.
Think they are around St Ives.

They closed the Alfa dealers in both Lancaster and Preston. If we want to buy one now we have to go up to Carlisle or down to Cheshire.
Marvellous eh?

Ongaros is still around in Cornwall - they are just outside Camborne. Recommended.

I was of the understanding that 8C's are going to be serviced at Maser dealers.

Hi, would like to say thanks for all the good messages left about Medway Auto's. Medway Auto's, as a new Alfa Romeo dealer gave Dan Childs and myself (Richard Goodman) the chance to develop the workshop, over the past three years the service that we provide has never been in any doubt and the high standards that are achieved through customer feedback is constantly positive. We were voted no 1 in a jd power survey yet again, but this has never been rewarded or acknowledged by Alfa Romeo. I have worked on Alfa for nearly 20 years and enjoyed every day, so when I read this letter I felt completely demoralised. Would like to confirm Medway Auto's is still open providing service, warranty and parts for Alfa Romeo; Fiat and Mercedes Benz
Many Thanks Richard Goodman

Richard,

Thanks for the post. I could not recommend Dan Childs enough. I actually work for Datateam so you will probably know our cars, i know that Dan does. First class service every time!

Mine will be up in about a month 48K service coming up.

Keep up the good work
Damien

Firstly may i thank all of you for your kind support and a big thanks to my team at Medway Alfa, Dan, Richard, Richard, Jamie and Matt as well as of course Dave Squirrell. Just for the records we took the Alfa Romeo franchise on in late 2003, a superb product and fitted well with our Mercedes Benz Operation. We have continually achieved excellent CSI results normally rating number one or two as a direct result of the dedication to the marque from the team.

We were unable to reach mutual agreement with the new management team at Alfa to represent the brand in both Maidstone and Medway and the SALES Contract was Relinquished. We were very disappointed when Alfa Romeo contacted our customers recently stating that Medway Autos have closed it's facilities. I can confirm that we are still very much alive and trading, we have had our best March in the 19 years of trading and still hold the Alfa Romeo After Sales Contract (along with Fiat & Mercedes Benz). I have written to Alfa's new MD regarding the miscommunication some 10 days ago and as yet i have not had the courtesy of a reply.
Despite all of this i would add that the product is great, keep buying it and we will be delighted to look after you at Medway Autos.

If you would like further details please do not hesitate to e mail me at richardsmith@medwayautos.com

Thanks you all once again.
