Went to see a friend of mine today. Over coffee, he pulled his very rare factory-built 7 litre Lister Le Mans out of a carcoon in the barn. What a monster! Batman meets Wall Street. 13 inch wide rear wheels and early 90s excess oozing out of every panel.....

Unfortunately, only a single static position for now, but hopefully I made the most of the location. Comments welcome.

Do you remember the Lister XJ12 Coupe they built that IIRC shared running gear with the Le Mans, but in a Series III coupe body...

Excellent, though possibly a little too contrasty for my tastes.

The car looks different shades of grey/black in this pic due to the sculptured panels. I like that a lot

Cheers. I seem to gravitate towards a darker end result. Mainly gamma reduction

That's the best example I've ever seen. It even looks better put together than the original press shots.

Where are the side repeaters?

(not that I'm complaining about their absence)

Pics 3 and 8 do it for me.

It's very hard not to like that car. Utterly awesome!

IIRC one of the original road tests was in a model with a sunroof - which flew off at around 175mph!

I knwo the bedroom posters always 'claimed' 200mph but I really wouldn't like to try it.

I think this is the one you're talking about, groomi...

Would that not have made it "theoretically" the fastest production car of its day?

Here's one last picture from the weekend.....

200mph, with that headlight design? I doubt it - maybe if a more aerodynamic cover was placed over them.

Also, you may want to do just a little more Photoshop work on the numberplate on the final pic

Lovely car thumbup

Says on that poster that it is 4" wider to make more room in the rear for passengers. I'd be curious to know how they did this because whilst I can see that the add-on flared arches would make it wider I fail to see how they could create more space other than by running a buzz saw down the middle and adding in a fillet of metal and if they did this they'd need bespoke windscreen and rear glass which it doesn't appear to have. Just curious scratchchin
