3000M Rear Wishbone removal ?
Discussion
I have a spare set of TVR 3000M rear suspension.
I want to remove the lower rear wishbones but have found the pins holding them on to the alloy hubs have corroded.
I seem to recall the only option is to hacksaw the pins and then press out the remainder once the wishbone is off ??
I've done a search but can't seem to find a topic covering this ....
As always any help greatfully appreciated before I start cutting .....
Adrian - you know what's coming your way for reinforcement :-)
I do an exchange upright ....do not press the rusty old pin out! as this damages the upright by drawing rust through the alloy, then you no longer have a tight fitting pivot pin. I have a jig that holds the upright and allows me to drill through the pivot from both sides with an undersize drill and you then break the rusty part out allowing it to be removed from the back, leaving a sliver of pivot pin to be prised away from the alloy.
