Along the route of one of my regular blats there is some lunatic whose house is just inside a 30mph limit from NSL.

Now in their front garden they have several huge great signs saying "the limit is 30" "you're all criminals" "you are blind and stupid" there's a whole display at the end of their garden! Now there appears to be what can only be described as a floodlight pointing horizontally at the end of their garden directed straight into the eyes of oncoming drivers, it couldn't be used for anything else and no attempt has been made to frost the glass or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure some nutcase is using it to sit at home and at nighttime turn it on when they see or hear a car coming along the road, with the intention of blinding the driver.

I was going to go back and take a photo just now but I managed to cook my brakes so wanted to return home to check them, is it a matter for the plod?

Attempted Murder springs to mind, though I doubt they'd get that to stick...

If its a proper light then a cup of water will do the job just as well, without attracting a firearms offence.

Local Authority, highways department and then Police I would think.

If they were to use it as you describe, triggering as a car approaches, it would be straight to Police for me.
Weird thing is they are surely making it more likely that someone crashes into their home.

Tossers. I dare say their anger stems from many idiots in cars hurtling past their house at ridiculously high and unsafe speeds. This does not mean they have the right to endanger all road users and they need taking to task.

Range Rover, bull bars, aim for the light. Problem solved.

There are byelaws against lights which might cause a hazard, I'm sure the council will be able to help.

Disclaimer: Bull Bar comment is obviously an attempt at ironic humor, and in no way intended to incite any illegal behaviour. As if I'd condone anyone driving a 4x4! The very thought.

Typical. They bang on about road safety and then go out of their way to make it more dangerous.

Report him, now.

He's just preaching a safer speed limit - why can't you see the light?

Sounds like the house between Barham & Coddenham (when you filter off the Barham to Claydon road on the way past Shrublands)

I have had a stand up argument with them before - I got screamed at for doing 27 mph (really) past their stupid hoardings etc...

Ruddy in-bred yokel nutters!

I've already made that offer! just tell me where it is! (and i am actually moderately serious, i have a car with accident damage that could be parked to look like a crash had just occured and i would love to see the look on their faces when i went and knocked on their door)
