I think I'm closing in on my Westfield of choice (given limited budget). Obviously I'm doing as much research as time allows but I'm not sure I'm looking in the right places. Is there a site/forum that is widely regarded as the MAIN site where I can find everything I need to know?

Thanks guys n' gals

www.wscc.co.uk/

Also plenty of choice in the classified sections of "Kit car" and similar publications.........

Take your time and choose CAREFULLY, there's a lot of dogs out there......

Good luck.

Register on the wscc forum as mentioned above, and contact Mark the NE region Area Orgniser. He will invite you along the next NE area meet (usually a pub carpark just off the A1 near washington)... you can have a chat to the members, share advice and have a look at the various cars that turn up. I found the wscc forum and Mark were really friendly and helpful altho i couldn't wait till the next club night before taking the plunge - i was too impatient... but i haven't looked back and grin from ear to ear whenevr i drive it.

Also as i just bought a westy about a month ago, i have just done all this research (i spent months) and would be happy to share what I've learned and take you for a spin in mine if you want.

All the time? I can think of one very funny time, although you weren't technically driving at the time hehe To quote Zebra... "We've got a static westfield, half a pack of cigarettes, a green fuel can, it's dark and we're wearing sun glasses!" thumbup

I know the one your refering to, however I believe it may have engine issues that were mentioned in a thread on the WSCC web site. Also I would rather not get a 'Q' plate. I know a lot of Westfields are on a 'Q' and I'm sure there is nothing wrong with them, but its just how I feel.

Im selling the orange car, yep you re right It had engine issues bloody big ones ! the oil pump let go !! Now sorted though It now has a replacement low mileage redtop fitted and will be the sweetest vx motor Ive heard!!

you would be as well to do some research on the Q plate theory .. you are very wrong in your thoughts the benifits out weigh the negatives..

Plenty of info on the wscc on this very subject just this week..

good luck in your search and will prob see you at a meet if you join the wscc theres loads of us in the north east.. we are meeting this Wednesday and there will be loads of us in our westys if you fancy popping along..

Jeff Cooper.

Don't dismiss a Q-plate too quickly... it can be very handy to have around MOT time!

Thanks for the input chaps. My feeling regarding 'Q' plates was not intended to be derogatory, it is simply as I said in the earlier post, a feeling smash .

I would very keen to pop along to your meet this Wednesday, I e-mailed the organiser as listed on the wscc web site but the e-mail kept getting bounced. Where is it happening and at what time?
