Discussion
Sorry to those that cant access PureGT, but I havent sussed out how to post pics on here as yet - so the only link to my pic is here:

Picture taken last weekend during a Ring Trip.
Someone seems to think that the Murci LP640 shot (post 2) is the Lambo test car for an LP640 Superleggera!
Could that be a carbon door (unpainted) on it, and the rear wing is a little 'Superleggera' in its design.

More info here:
Sources on the ground at Germany's Nürburgring believe that this Lamborghini test car is a prototype for the Murcielago Superleggera - a lighter, even more intense version of the Lamborghini supercar flagship.
The black panels on this prototype point to the same use of lighter-weight carbon-fiber and plastic panels found on the recently released Gallardo Superleggera, meaning this super Murcielago gets a new engine hood, door panels, and central tunnel made out of the high-tech aerospace materials. Some of the glass has also likely been replaced by lighter-weight clear plastic, further reducing the Murcielago's mass. This prototype was also fitted with a massive rear wing, also likely crafted from carbon-fiber.
As with the Gallardo Superleggera, this new Murcielago is expected to get a power bump beyond its 640 horsepower, further intensifying the gains made from the 'Lago's weight reduction. Just how close the Murcielago Superleggera will get to 700 horsepower is currently unknown. Also unknown is exactly when this newest Superleggera will be available to the insanely wealthy, but a public debut at one of this fall's European motor shows seems logical.

I asked some of the Lambo top brass about that on the Gallardo Superleggera launch. They were discussing a launch location for next March (needed to be good weather, near an international airport and a race track)so naturally I asked what product they would have in place to launch next March. I suggested Murcielago Superleggera and they all smiled.
I reckon it'll be shown at Geneva and a press launch will follow in March. But then I could be totally wrong.

I hope they bring it out soon.....then the LP640 prices might take a hit, and a glut of them will get dumped into the used market....then I can get one
i hope not. it would be nice if my car actually got BUILT and ARRIVED before it started depreciating!
if the SL turns out to be a VT again, i wonder what the odds are of a diabloe SE30 esque RWD runout SE, maybe a SE50? assuming its still in production.
Do you think they are planning to paint the doors, i know its very contemporary to have bits on show a la Gallardo Nera, but in any other colour than black its surely going to look like a very expensive scrappy racers special, a 200 grand version of a pikeys transit van with one red door bought from the scrapyard.
As long as its faster, more dangerous, more expensive and louder then a big

Don't know WHEN they plan to build it though, given that the factory is supposed to be now running at full whack.
