After reading the 'train drinkers' thread I was wondering who on here has the longest daily commute to work?
I'm not talking staying in town during the week or anything, but actual 'daily commute'.

I'm 91 miles, 90mins AM, 65mins PM, Southampton to London.

1 hour 45 minutes on the way in and 1 hour 40 home.
Nearer 2 hours home if i don't get away exactly on time.

Door to door, leave at 6.45am, get in to work at about 9.05, leave at 5.10, and am in the front door at 7.30.

Shady - I am on your train!!

Just being even more nosy, would people mind giving a ball park cost of their daily commute - parking, train fare, cab at the other end, 8 cans of stella etc.

I'm a 45 mile each way commuter in a private car. Picking up a collegue along the way pays for half of my 60 litres of fuel a week, therefore only about £7 a day in fuel (free parking)

In the morning you aren't hehe
I've been in 10 mins before you've left your front door.

Normally get the 1805 or 1835 home, sometimes the 1735 if I'm lucky.

Car from home (Desborough, Northants) to Kettering, about 8 miles
Train form Kettering to London St Pancras 74 miles.
Kings X to Baker St, no idea how far but 3 stops on the tube.

It helps to make up for the Scottish Environment Minister who commutes from Scotland to London by plane. Perhaps I can sell him some carbon credits?

I don't know how you possibly do that every day. That would kill me. What state are you in when you get home? Surely the evenings during the week are a complete write off.

i'm sure i'm no where near the longest but i raise you by 4 miles. St.Albans to Thames Ditton, 95miles, 90mins to 2hours AM and 90min - 3hours in the evening.
Beats the trains - that would take me over 6 hours a day

26 miles over a mixture of country roads, A roads and the M5. Takes about 45-50 minutes traffic dependant (although took nearly 2 hours on Monday after some tw*t jack-knifed a lorry on the M5).
