Chimfest 07 - 12th August
On the grounds of Sandon Hall, Stafford

We hope you will come along to the second national gathering of the TVR Chimaera and make it a success worthy of this magnificent car. There are plenty of things to keep you and your family occupied in the grounds and house though we expect most of you will be taking this opportunity to meet fellow owners and share stories of you ownership experiences.

Details for Saturday evening

For those like me who have to travel a long way to this event we have reserved rooms at the Best Western Tillington Hall Hotel, Stafford for Saturday 11th August. Plenty of secure car park spaces. There will be an evening meal in a private function room with bar and a large screen showing cars having fun on the road and track. Please PM me for details. Room availability is limited and we will need to release unclaimed reservations back to the hotel if take up is low so please book early.

The Main Event - Sunday

Sandon Hall is situated in the heart of Staffordshire and is surrounded by 400 acres of parkland, the beautiful neo-Jacobean house is worth a visit and the acres of glorious parkland are there for the fit and agile to enjoy. Home to many car shows, Sandon Hall is very well equipped for our needs providing ample green space, first-class facilities and a good variety of food for those not packing picnic lunches.

There will be several prizes on offer and if you are lucky you could be going home with something very nice. Those hoping to impress will undoubtedly do so, but you could take advantage of the Car Care Clinic being offered by Mike Milbourne (The Polishing Company). If you wish to take part in these competitions your car should be prepared by midday. Professional judges are at hand to examine the cars and decide which cars are supreme. The judges will be choosing and presenting prizes for the Best Bodywork Finish, Best Engine Bay, Best Interior and Best Upgrade and will also select one car to be the overall winner ‘Best in Show’

Once the judging is complete there will have a run out down some lovely Staffordshire country lanes returning in time for the charity auction and presentation of prizes.

The charity auction will be on behalf of the Great North Air Ambulance so please bring your cheque books.

Directions to Sandon Hall

Conveniently located some 5 miles from Stafford on the A51 that runs from Stone to Rugeley. From Junction 14 of the M6, follow the Stafford Ring Road (signs RAF), and after 2 miles, turn left onto the B5066, signposted Sandon. This leads to a major T-junction with the A51 just 50 metres from the entrance gates. The private drive is nearly a mile long. Please note that due to height restrictions, there is a separate entrance for commercial vehicles.

Looks like a fun packed day. - Already in the diary.

Now I need to hunt for the fun back roads from London to Staffordshire. This could take a while.
