I posted this up in the Supercars Spotted thread on GG a month ago, but it should probably be on here as well for those of you who don't visit that. Apologies for the woeful photos, undeserving of such a motorcar.

I always had a problem with British cars being jacked-up and customised to resemble a wannabe American. It just looks so lame. Like a Hillman Avenger in Starsky & Hutch colours or an "A Team" Bedford van replica. If you like Americana, buy American!
Oh agree completely. But the thing is, for that to have survived looking like that, is cool...

Likewise I followed this in my Lotus for many noisey miles on a PH run last month. I think it's genuine (at least in the most part): first registered January 1970 and with real patina.

After that combo of type 57 and gt40 I am almost embarrassed to post this spot but I havent seen one on the road for more than 10 years.

A "h" plate mini clubman estate in red complete with the plastic wood on the sides running on what looked like 10 inch rostyles heading down the mad mile from the m1 towards Ossett. It was bloody tiny, the roof of the mini was barely higher than the bonnet of the x5 behind him.

Bit late posting this and no pictures I'm afraid but last weekend a gunmetal A.C. Ace droned past spoodler manors a couple of times... looked and sounded genuine (and drop dead gorgeous).

Not a Beaufort, which was a full convertible (only 2 or 3 made IIRC), pretty sure it is a 412. The Turbocharged Beaufighter looked similar but had a bonnet bulge. Still, always nice to see a Bristol.

Not only that, but it's an early 412 (now known as the Series 1) which has a fully opening centre panel. Later cars had a side strengthener between windscreen pillar and roll bar. Most people say that there is only one Beaufort, although Bristol have insinuated in the past that there are more, possibly even half a dozen or so. I could believe the idea of a couple rotting away in the middle east somewhere, but suspect there is only one really. 412s are slightly curious looking from some angles, but look great from others, and all look better in the metal than in pictures.
