In relation to other question, how fast acting is methanol on aluminium?

IE how fast will in affect it?

Are you refering to rusting and scoring of the bores?

Ah ok.

Dad got a load of stuff done for the Dragster at a place in Milton Keynes. I will ask him tonight what it is called.

It is in Blakelands in Milton Keynes but the name escapes me at the moment.

Were painting the outside anyway, inside has to be anodized as methanol attacks aluminium.

Thanks for the link though :-)

I do know that when I got my flying toilet alcohol dragster going in 2000, I used a fitting that was already on one end of a hose in my return line, just cutting to proper length and putting my own on the other end. Not long after I started seeing chalk in my screen, so I took everything apart to find the culprit. Sure enough, someone had scratched the anodizing when they assembled that one. It was "fast acting" enough on that one that it would have taken itself apart very soon had I not done it first.

Since you're asking about an entire tank, which I know nothing about, I bet someone on classicfunnycarboard might be able to tell you if they've had trouble with it, since many there are from the "era." Makes me wonder if having a nitro/methanol percentage could ever damage my own polished tank.
