Just thought that I would share my stupidity in the hope that it saves other people the money that it has cost me!

Been having a few problems with a weepy injector on my (new to me)350i which has done very few miles over the past few years, added injector cleaner and no real improvement so had them all removed and cleaned and new fuel filter fitted.

Didn't get the car more than 200 yards away from the garage before I had lost two cylinders. It turns out that as the car had been stood for so long condensation in the petrol tank had emulsified with the injector cleaner causing a milky substance that sails through filters uninhibited yet sticks to nice clean injectors like baby poo to a blanket.

Why didn't I think of that in advance?!!

Ooops been a bit busy. I took it back to the mechanics and jumped up and down! They sorted the problem by flushing the tank and recleaning the injector and putting another fuel filter on (just in case). Problem solved and they didn't charge me even though technically it wasn't their problem. Unfortunately now the bottom jubilee clips on the inlet hose to the back offside injector has turned around and chewed a big hole in (what I think is) the main inlet hose to that side of the engine - the result about six pints an hour of petrol over the engine! Oops!! Waiting for them to pick it up now and put new hoses on!! Public transport and a long face for me then!
