Hi All -

My commute is about to double, so I'm thinking of changing my trusty but basic 1992 Eunos Roadster (aka MX-5) for a modern hatch. Naturally a 147 appeals way more than a similarly priced FocusGolfCorollaAstra.

However, my better half is of an artistic disposition, and she reckons the offset number plate is an eyesore - "If they can't even design a symmetrical front-end, what hope the rest of the vehicle!?"

What's to be done? Can the plate easily be re-located and domestic bliss reign once again?

On a more serious note, any tips on getting a s/h 147 other than:

- Look for FSH with 36k/3yr cambelt and annual/12k or better oil services
- Don't get the Selespeed box
- Get the 6 speed JTD if possible for better performance/economy

Cheers

Pete

Would have thought the offset plate would appeal to her, then?
Obviously not though...

It's a historic thing on Alfas with deep grills. They look far worse moved than where they should be (off to the side).

Has she thought about a McLaren F1? They were quite central with most things.
